Alma Moreno asks netizens to stop making fun of her

United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) senatorial candidate Alma Moreno has asked netizens to stop creating and spreading memes and parodies of her on social media as they were beginning to affect her family.

Moreno directly addressed netizens who created viral cuts of her dancing in sorties during her unsuccessful bid for the Senate, and the user behind the Twitter account @LovelinessAlma.

Her children, she said in a report by JP Soriano on 24 Oras Thursday, have been hurt by @LovelinessAlma's tweets. They helped her in reporting the parody account.

"Pati mga anak ko naapektuhan. Kasi yung anak ko biglang, 'di ba sa Twitter may lumalabas na mali-mali ang sinasabi nila. Pati spelling, mali," Moreno said .

She said that she did not have a Twitter account nor was she ever in-charge of the parody account.

"No, hindi ko account at wala akong account. Hindi naman ako ganun- tingin nila sa 'kin wala akong alam, hindi naman po. Hindi naman ako ganun ka-bobo. Sobra naman, 'di ba?" Moreno said.

While @Loveliness Alma has since been deactivated, screenshots of its tweets have been circulated on other social media platforms and Twitter accounts.

"Sana tama na. Kung wala kang magawa, tumahimik ka na lang, 'di ba? 'Wag ka nang- isipin mo rin- 'wag na 'ko, mga anak ko, 'yung mga anak ko. At saka tumingin ka lang sa salamin," Moreno said.

As of 6:53 p.m. on Thursday, Moreno is ranked 24th in the partial and unofficial tally of the May 9 polls with 2,363,199 votes.

The Parañaque councilor months ago also called on netizens to stop the cyberbullying, which stemmed from a controversial TV interview, in which she admitted to not having full grasp of certain issues. —Rie Takumi/NB, GMA News
