Laguna mayor clarifies: Multicab with Mar-Leni posters not LGU vehicle
The multicab with Mar-Leni posters that had no license plate seen driving around Laguna is not a local government vehicle, a town mayor has clarified.
Sta. Rosa town Mayor Arlene Arcillas said the seal on the multicab was not the seal of Sta. Rosa's local government.
"The multicab with the seal is a private vehicle. The Dangal ng Santa Rosa seal is not the seal of the city but [the] seal or symbol of the non-government group cum local political group of Cong Dan [Fernandez] and slate belonging to the Liberal Party...So there is no violation," Arcillas replied to a post by photographer James Deakin.
Fernandez, representative of Laguna's 1st District in the House of Representatives, is a stalwart of the Liberal Party.
LP's presidential and vice presidential candidates are Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo.
In his Facebook post, Deakin reported that the vehicle had a "government seal."
No plate, no conduction sticker, just a government seal on the side and being used for campaigning for, well, the government. I guess that counts as official use, right?

The mayor said that there should be no violation on the part of the local government since the vehicle is owned by a non-government organization.
Regarding the "no plate" violation, Arcillas said "it can be questioned, and already called the attention of Congressman Dan about it."
She added that she thinks the "vehicle is new," adding that she has also advised the NGO about the netizen's concern.
Team Daang Matuwid spokesman Barry Gutierrez has said that the Liberal Party will "look into it immediately."
He also reiterated that they have instructed their supporters and volunteers to follow campaign rules, especially the prohibition on the use of government vehicle.
"Coalition policy on this is clear and we are doing all we can to see it followed," Gutierrez said. "We appreciate when instances like these are brought to our attention." —ALG, GMA News
