‘Nazi’ files COC for president, vows to defend PHL from invaders
Jose Larry Maquinana appeared rather plain when he showed up at the Commission on Elections office in a white polo and black slacks.
He spoke, to which not much attention was paid, until reporters noticed the design on the right chest side of his polo.
Maquinanan was about to step out of the podium when they asked, "Kuya, ano 'yan? Bakit ka may swastika?"
Maquinana—a 41-year-old driver from Commonwealth, Quezon City—seemed dumbfounded by the question, and instead of answering, he went to retrieve two pieces of paper showing the same sign.
He posed with the swastikas, then stepped down. Reporters agains asked him why he had the sign made infamous by German dictator Adolf Hitler in the middle of the last century.
"Katuparan ng nasusulat sa Bible," Maquinana said.
Maquinana said he was a "sugo." While he said he was a "nazi," he still wasn't able to fully explain how he was a national socialist.
At least, he showed some nationalist fervor.
"Ipagtatanggol ko po ang bansang Pilipinas sa mga bansa na gustong umangkin... Ibabangon ko po ang lakas ng ating puwersa," Maquinana said.
Maquinana was one of the less prominent candidates who went to the Comelec on Thursday, to file their COCs for president. —NB, GMA News
