Bureau of Immigration, DOJ launch e-counters at NAIA
The Bureau of Immigration and the Department of Justice recently launched electronic counters at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminals for passengers going in and out of the country, a report on News To Go on Thursday said.
E-counters contain vital information about passport holders, including permits from the National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine National Police, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency and Interpol.
This airport innovation aims to prevent criminals from leaving or entering the country without authorization, and to provide faster and more efficient services for passengers, the report said.
Once cleared from the E-counter, passengers can pass through Immigration easily.
The Bureau of Immigration plans to install a total of 500 e-counters in the country's seven international airports. —Bianca Rose Dabu/KG, GMA News
