NBI help in Ozu Ong slay sought; sister says brother probably knew killers
By MARK D. MERUEÑAS, GMA News
The sister of former Masculados Dos member Marcelo "Ozu" Ong on Monday sought the National Bureau of Investigation's help in probing the killing of her 30-year-old brother in Rizal over the weekend.
The victim's sister, Maan Ong, said it was likely that her brother knew the people behind the carjacking incident that happened in Angono, Rizal early Sunday.
"Bakit siya hihinto sa isang stranger? Kahit ikaw, hindi mo hihintuan ang isang stranger. Doon kami nagsuspetsa na... Matalino ang kapatid ko. Bakit mo bababain ang stranger. So baka kakilala niya rin eh," she said in a report on GMA News' 24 Oras.
There is an ongoing police probe on the killing, but Maan said their family decided to seek the NBI's help to help expediting solving the case.
An emotional Maan said she does not want to just sit around and mourn his brother's death. Instead, she wanted to "seek revenge" for him and bring him justice.
"Humihingi ako ng tulong sa lahat. Hindi ako tatahimik hangga't hindi niyo naihaharap iyang [suspek]... Hindi ako papayag. Hindi talaga. Hindi ako titigil. Mark my word. Kawawang-kawawa ang mommy ko," said Maan.
Police said the incident happened in front of Primrose Hills Subdivision in Angono town at around 4 a.m.
In front of the subdivision, Ozu disembarked from his black Toyota Hilux with plate number AAO 2722 to approach a parked vehicle, from which his attacker emerged and shot him.
Another suspect got off the parked vehicle and commandeered Ozu's own vehicle.
The victim's body has been brought to Funeraria Antipolo.
"Sa mga taong gumawa nito sa kapatid ko gusto ko ipaalam sa inyong lahat, kung ilan man kayo, apat na bata ang inulila niyo," said Ozu's brother Dennis, who urged the suspects to surrender. — ELR, GMA News
