VP Binay to Roxas: Ordinary Pinoys' everyday plight no laughing matter
The word war between Vice President Jejomar Binay and his former colleages in the Aquino cabinet continues to heat up.
The vice president Friday twitted Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas for saying he found Binay's speech amusing.
Roxas was reacting to Binay's speech on Wednesday days after quitting the cabinet as housing czar and presidential adviser for OFW affairs. Binay called the government of Pres. Aquino callous and a failure.
"Natatawa nga ako," said Roxas.
Binay hit back at Roxas, saying the plight of ordinary Filipinos is no laughing matter. Binay said the daily struggles of Filipinos, such as riding faulty MRT trains and the poverty prevalent in the country, are not things that the public laughs about.

Hindi katatawanan," said Binay.
Binay and Roxas are seen as potential rivals for the presidency in 2016.
On Monday, the vice president tendered his “irrevocable” resignation, quitting his positions as head of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), and as presidential adviser on overseas Filipino workers.

In his speech at the Coconut Palace two days later, Binay said the Aquino government has become “callous” and “a failure,” and is advocating selective justice in favor of its political allies.
"Ito rin ang hangarin ng ating mga kababayan: isang pamahalaang kabaliktaran ng manhid at palpak na pamahalaan ngayon," he said.

Binay has also traded barbs with Budget Secretary Florencio Abad after the vice president attacked the administration's controversial Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP). Binay said his family was singled out for persecution by the government.
“I find it hypocritical that he is ranting against DAP… He never raised any issue when the two agencies received and used those funds,” Abad, who engineered the DAP, said in a text message to reporters.
