Mar Roxas unaware of mom's ‘early campaigning’

Interior Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas II, presumed to be the administration party's standard bearer for the 2016 elections, on Monday said he had not spoken to his mother, Judy Araneta-Roxas, about her supposedly revealing his 2016 plans before Negros Occidental local officials.

Araneta-Roxas had said during the Saturday meeting in Bago City, Negros Occidental that her son was ready to run "all the way" to the presidency. Negros Occidental ranks fourth in the list of top 10 vote-rich provinces with more than 1.5 million registered voters.

Araneta-Roxas, the vice chairman of the Araneta Group of Companies, was one of the ruling Liberal Party's (LP's) biggest donors during the 2013 midterm polls, with P20 million in contributions. — DVM, GMA News
