AFP’s third highest ranking official retires


Armed Forces of the Philippines' deputy chief of staff Lt. Gen. Virgilio Domingo on Friday official retired from the military after 34 years of service.

In a press statement released on Friday, the AFP said Domingo, a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Dimalupig" Class of 1981, will be replaced by Major General Edgar Fallorina, former Philippine Air Force vice commander, as the military's deputy chief of staff.

Fallorina is a member of PMA "Matikas" Class of 1983.

Domingo, who had assumed as deputy chief of staff last November 17, 2013, has received several awards during his service, including the Gawad sa Kaunlaran, Medalya ng Kadakilaan, and the United Nations Medal for Special Service in Iraq.

Domingo, who is set to turn 56 on June 8, had graduated Cum Laude at the PMA in Baguio City.

He also completed his Masters in Business Administration at the Ateneo De Manila University Graduate School of Business in 1997. He also graduated from the International Academy of Management and Economics with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Major in Management) in 2011. -NB, GMA News
