DOH adopts code white, blue alerts for Holy Week
The Department of Health will be on Code White and Blue Alerts in several regions for the Holy Week, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.
In an update posted on its website on Sunday, the NDRRMC said the DOH will be on Code White in Cagayan Valley and Mimaropa, and Code Blue in Cordillera.
Filipinos are expected to flock to the provinces in the coming days to spend Holy Week with their loved ones.
The NDRRMC itself has been on blue alert since Friday, disseminating advisories to all regions.
Code White requires that emergency service, nursing and administrative personnel residing at the hospital dormitory be on an on-call status for immediate mobilization.
A Code Blue alert requires up to half of health facilities in the affected areas.
Medicines have been pre-positioned while emergency medical teams are on standby for emergencies.
For its part, the Department of Public Works and Highways in Ilocos organized Lakbay Alalay teams and ensured all roads and bridges are passable.
Construction work has been discontinued for the Holy Week.
