The Senate joint committee was one of several the bodies that investigated the Jan. 25 Mamasapano clash, to determine what had happened on that fateful day that saw the deaths of 67 people, including 44 elite police officers, 18 members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, and five civilians.
After several public hearings and executive sessions, the committee found flaws and questions of accountability, including those of President Benigno Aquino III, resigned PNP chief Director-General Alan Purisima and relieved PNP-Special Action Force director Director Getulio Napeñas.
The committee's findings were released on Tuesday in a draft committee report.
