Campaign aide dies in Marikina shooting
A motorcycle-riding man on Thursday morning opened fire on two women supporters of reelectionist Rep. Del de Guzman, killing the congressman's campaign manager in a dispute allegedly over the posting of election materials in Marikina City. Radio station dzBB identified the slain campaign manager as Mila Andrade, 48, who sustained gunshot wounds to her cheek and stomach. Her companion, Rosita Tubise, 46, was undergoing medical treatment after suffering a gunshot wound to her knee. The radio report said the assailant, who rode a black motorcycle, suddenly blocked the path of the two and fired at them. Slugs for .45-cal. pistols were recovered from the scene. The incident happened a few meters away from the Tumana police detachment. Prior to the attack, the victims allegedly had a quarrel over the putting up of posters in the village.
