UK Embassy in Manila cancels consular appointments due to floods

Heavy rain and floods over Metro Manila since Sunday night forced the UK Embassy in Manila to cancel consular appointments on Monday.

 

In posts on its Twitter account, the UK Embassy said those affected by the development may contact the embassy via email or telephone.

 

"All consular appointments scheduled today are cancelled. For more info, please email Cons.Manila@fco.gov.uk or call us at (02) 8582200," it said.

The embassy also advised British nationals to contact it if they need assistance.

 

"If you have been affected by heavy rain or floods and require assistance, please call (02)8582200. Take care!" it added.

Since Sunday, heavy rain and floods had submerged parts of Metro Manila.

 

PAGASA said Tropical Storm Maring, whose enhancement of the southwest monsoon caused the heavy rain, may stay in the Philippine Area of Responsibility until at least Thursday. — RSJ, GMA News
