Only light rains expected in some parts of PHL this Saturday – PAGASA
Filipinos enjoying the rest of the long weekend can expect light or isolated rain in the next 24 hours, state weather forecasters said Friday afternoon.
PAGASA forecaster Elvie Enriquez said there is still no weather disturbance or potential cyclone near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
"Walang nakitang weather disturbance o palapit na bagyo," Enriquez said in an interview on dzBB radio.
PAGASA's 5 p.m. bulletin indicated light rain over some parts of the country in the next 24 hours, and a cold front across Extreme Northern Luzon.
It said Cagayan Valley, Bicol, and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with occasional light rain, while Ilocos and Cordillera will experience passing light rain.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated brief rain showers and thunderstorms.
PAGASA also said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon, and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast and east with slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said strong to gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon may affect the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon.
"Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels alerted against big waves," it said. — TJD, GMA News
