DepEd: Oct. 31 a regular school day
Sorry kids, there will be time for trick-or-treating and other Halloween activities on Wednesday, but only after school. The Department of Education on Tuesday evening reminded students that Wednesday, the eve of All Saints' Day, is a regular school day. "Tomorrow (Oct. 31) is a regular school day. Only Nov. 1 and 2 are declared holidays," the DepEd said on its Twitter account. Even Malacañang's proclamation had indicated only Nov. 1 and 2 would be special nonworking days. Last weekend, the Palace said it would be unlikely for Wednesday to be declared a half-day to allow Filipinos more time to observe Undas (All Saints' and All Souls' Days). The yearly exodus to the provinces for Undas is expected to start peaking Wednesday afternoon or evening, when many people knock off work early to get rides to the provinces. — BM, GMA News
