DOJ adds 20 new vehicles to its fleet

The Justice Department has acquired 20 new Toyota Innova and two Hino coasters worth about P33 million for distribution to its regional offices, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said Monday.

“Matagal ng hinihingi ng regional offices namin yung mga service nila because karamihan sa mga ito ay more than 10 years na ‘yung kanilang mga service vehicle nila kaya mas nagiging magastos na pagpaparepair,” De Lima told reporters.

“Nagkaroon na kami ng pondo riyan kaya nabili na. It went through normal bidding process,” she added.

The vehicles, which were bought in Toyota Makati, were estimated to cost more than P17 million. The vehicles will be given to DOJ’s regional prosecutors and senior prosecutors.

Apart from the multi-purpose vehicles, the agency also bought two Hino coasters, which cost about P16 million. — Rouchelle Dinglasan/RSJ, GMA News
