Kuh Ledesma's ex-hubby walks out of jail
Businessman Luisito Gonzales walked free Tuesday after spending more than a year in jail in connection with the murder of his stepbrother in 2007. Gonzales, grandson of the late President Elpidio Quirino and former husband of singer Kuh Ledesma, was released from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) jail at 2:15 p.m. on order from the Manila Regional Trial Court. Judge Thelma Bunyi-Medina of Manila RTC Branch 32 issued a three-page order to release Gonzales after the Supreme Court dismissed the murder charges against him. âIâm very happy and I thank the justice system for being fair and for seeing the truth," said Gonzales, who spent one year and four months at the NBI jail. His driver and co-accused, Antonio T. Buenaflor, was likewise ordered released from the Manila City Jail for the same reason. The two were charged for the murder of Federico âRico" Delgado, scion of shipping magnate Francisco "Don Paco" Delgado, in March 10, 2007. Delgado's girlfriend, Annalisa Pesico, survived the alleged attack and positively identified Gonzales and Buenaflor as their assailants. Gonzales said he would stay in the country despite warnings from his relatives that he might be âframed up" again. âI have so many friends calling me up [telling me] that I should leave the country⦠but I leave it to faith," he said. GMA News tried contacting the Delgado family and the prosecution to no avail. - GMANews.TV
