Ruby Rose daughter will not visit mother's wake

MANILA, Philippines - Emmanuel Jimenez III, the estranged husband of Ruby Rose Barrameda, will spend the rest his life keeping a tight lid on the privacy of his two daughters. Despite allegations by the Barrameda family that the Jimenez family was responsible for Ruby Rose’s grisly murder, the children chose to stick with their father. Ruby Rose’s grisly murder and the gangster-like disposal of her body in a cement-sealed drum stunned the public when the news broke of her body’s discovery in the waters off Navotas last week. The dream of the Barramedas for the children to be reunited with their late mother before she is buried will not happen because of the kids' decision. In an exclusive interview with GMA News’ Steve Dailisan aired over QTV’s "News on Q," the eldest daughter of Ruby Rose said that although she misses her mother, she is happy with her life now. Dailisan also quoted the daughter that she’d rather focus on her studies. The Barrameda family had repeatedly requested for Ruby Rose’s two daughters to visit their mother’s wake at the Heritage Park in Taguig City. Ruby Rose’s interment was scheduled on Wednesday. Ruby Rose, who had been separated from her husband, Manuel Jimenez III, since 2006, had been missing for two years prior to the discovery of her body in Navotas City. Murder charges had been filed by the Barrameda family against seven people, including the victim’s father-in-law, Manuel Jimenez II, and his brother, Lope Jimenez. Jimenez II has denied involvement in the killing of Ruby Rose and said they are willing to face the charges to prove their innocence. At Malacañang, an official said President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is “more than willing" to extend assistance to the family of Ruby Rose. Secretary to the Cabinet Silvestre Bello III said they expect Acting Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera to “take all appropriate and effective measures to really bring the criminals to justice." “I am sure the President is more than wiling to assist the Barrameda family considering the heinousness of the crime committed on one of the members the family," he said. - GMANews.TV
