Over 100 more dead pets found dumped in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan
More than 100 additional dead pets have been found dumped at various locations across San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
In a "24 Oras" report from Bea Pinlac on Wednesday, pets were found in varying states of decay across the city. Some of the bodies were already riddled with worms.
“Most are too degraded and unidentifiable… we’re looking at probably around 120 bags or more,” said Chris Taylor, the founder of Luna and Furry Siblings Animal Welfare Rescue.
“One of the places that we suspect — they take from other vet clinics, other places, crematories that do not do their actual cremations. They contract out. So again, we’re not really sure,” he added.
The animal foundation is already working with the National Bureau of Investigation to retrieve the remains of the pets.
“This is on too large a scale. We're going to need the city, CENRO (City Environment and Natural Resources Office) and public health out here, because it’s just too massive and we’re going to need too many people to search the whole area, so really, it’s just going to be a manpower issue,” Taylor said.
This new dumping site was preceded by the initial site found in San Jose del Monte. The first dumping site was tied to a pet crematorium in Bacoor, Cavite.
“Titingnan yung composition; is it really yung ash coming from pets, animals or baka hindi… It will be up to the owners if they want to air their side… Kung wala naman po talaga siyang maling ginawa, face the music, give your side sa ating mga investigators… As of now, what we can see is possibly estafa plus civil damages,” Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co said.
