UE opens full scholarship application for incoming freshmen

The University of the East (UE) has opened the application for a scholarship program for students who plan to pursue accountancy, dentistry, engineering, information technology, and business courses in School Year 2025-2026.

The university said that its Tan Yan Kee Foundation Inc. (TYKFI) scholarship program is now accepting applications from incoming college freshmen who have a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 90% in the first semester of Grade 12.

Applicants must also achieve a high passing mark in the UE college entrance test, among other qualifications.

Qualified UE-TYKFI scholars shall be entitled to 100% free tuition and miscellaneous fees, along with a book allowance, uniform subsidy, transportation allowance, and a monthly stipend “which they can continue to receive each semester by meeting grade requirements and finishing their respective courses within the prescribed period.”

The deadline for application is on April 11, 2025.

“We urge all eligible and driven students to seize this invaluable opportunity—not only to fulfill their academic dreams but also to carve a path toward becoming future leaders and innovators, equipped with the education and skills they will gain,” UE president Zosimo Battad said in a statement.
