Chinese arrested from POGO raid files counter-affidavit


A Chinese national has filed his counter-affidavit on the qualified trafficking complaint filed against him and 19 others over the alleged Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub that was raided in the Bay Area, Parañaque in February.

According to a report on Unang Balita, the Chinese national and other respondents attended the preliminary investigation at the Department of Justice on Tuesday.

Among the other respondents are 17 Chinese nationals and two Filipinos who served as administrators of the raided establishment.

In February, authorities arrested 453 illegal POGO employees. This included 146 foreigners, most of whom were Chinese.

They were reportedly  caught in front of their computers on the three floors of the building believed to be operating illegal offshore gaming and scamming activities.—Joahna Lei Casilao/AOL, GMA Integrated News
