Man thwarted from abducting 5-year-old boy in Caloocan

A man is being sought by the police for attempting to abduct a five-year-old boy in Caloocan City.

According to Maki Pulido’s report in “24 Oras” on Wednesday, “Liza” saw on CCTV that a man was knocking on the door of their house.

An unidentified man peeked through the window and was caught signaling to two children who were in the living room. The suspect brought out some coins from his pocket and gave it to one of the kids.

“Liza” immediately ran out of their house after she saw her nephew got out the door, seemingly to go with the man.

“Nung na-convince niya lumabas yung isang bata, binigyan po niya ng pera, pagbigay sinenyasan niya na umakyat sa taas,” she said.

(When he convinced one of the kids to come out, he gave him money and signaled him to go upstairs.)

“Liza” said when she confronted the man he suddenly acted oblivious to what happened.

When Liza brought the child inside the house the suspect immediately left.

The five-year-old boy’s mother is worried because she believes her child could have been kidnapped.

“Natakot para sa anak ko kasi lagi naman sila naglalaro dito kahit walang banta,  panatag ako kasi tapat lang ng bahay malayo sa kalsada,” the mother said.

(I was scared for my child because they normally play inside without a guardian and I had peace of mind because they were far from the street.)

The boy’s family already reported the incident to the police precinct under the jurisdiction of Barangay 180, North Caloocan.

The police substation commander said they will investigate the incident.
