71-year-old businessman killed by riding in tandem suspects in Parañaque ambush

A 71-year-old businessman was shot dead Tuesday while he was driving his sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Parañaque City on Tuesday morning.

In Jun Veneracion’s report on “24 Oras,” the victim was found dead inside the SUV he was driving Tuesday morning.

According to a witness, the backseater onboard a motorcycle driven by an accomplice fired four to five times at the victim’s car, causing it to crash into a post.

The SUV’s side mirror on the driver's side hit twice and another two gunshots struck the front left side.

The number of gunshots fired by the suspect will be revealed in the forensic investigation.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the victim was engaged in a house rental business but did not give further details as investigation is ongoing.

“ito ay nasa business ng pagpapa-upa ng bahay. Base sa report ni hepe, hindi po yun ang matibo bagamat meron sila motibo na tinutumbok ngayon. Hindi na muna binanggit dahil sa kasalukuyan sila ay nasa follow up operations,” said Police Colonel Randulf Tuaño, acting chief of the PNP Public Information Office.
