Launch of Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli Phase 3 rescheduled due to bad weather
The launch of the Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli Phase 3 was postponed due to inclement weather.
The event, which was supposed to be attended by President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos, had been scheduled for today, February 17.
According to Deputy Social Secretary Dina Arroyo-Tantoco, it has been rescheduled to Thursday, February 27.
''Your safety and comfort are of paramount importance, and we appreciate your understanding,'' Arroyo-Tantoco said.
''We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing you on the new date,'' she added.
The Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli project was inaugurated in January last year, with Marcos saying the rehabilitation of the Pasig River would be people-centered and community-driven.
Informal settlers on the riverbank were relocated by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) for the project.
The showcase area, spanning almost 500 meters behind the Manila Central Post Office building, is part of the initial phase of the multi-agency urban renewal project spearheaded by the Inter-Agency Council for the Pasig River Urban Development (IAC-PRUD) chaired by DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Azucar. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA Integrated News
