Couples visit Manila park to celebrate early Valentine’s Day

Some couples visited the Arroceros Forest Park in Manila on Thursday to celebrate Valentine’s Day early.

In Mariz Umali’s report on “24 Oras,” Andre Landicho and Trix Mendoza chose to have a date on Valentine’s Eve since they would be busy on the day itself.

Considered the last lung of Manila, the Arroceros Forest Park has peaceful surroundings where couples can be one with nature and enjoy the koi pond and colorful fountain.

Couple April Bauno and Ronald Caillan were having a prenup photoshoot along the Pasig River bank in the park.

Bauno said they enjoyed the view of the park since there were still few people.

People have also started flocking to the Dangwa flower market to buy flowers for their loved ones, like Andrei Policarpio, who bought a bouquet for his girlfriend.

Meanwhile, two students bought dried flowers for their mothers.

Among the most popular flowers are the Ecuadorian roses, China roses, carnations, eucalyptus, and tulips, which increased its prices to P20-P60 from last year.

A bouquet of stuffed toys and balloons costs P500, while dried flowers prices are from P350 to P1,900.
