Motorists caught in EDSA bus lane claim to be Pacquiao security detail

The Department of Transportation-Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DOTr-SAICT) caught two vehicles using the EDSA busway, with the occupants claiming to be part of former senator Manny Pacquiao's security detail.

According to a “24 Oras Weekend” report on Sunday, the van and SUV who were stopped were also using unauthorized blinkers and sirens.

One of the vehicles’ passengers said they would pull over to talk with the traffic enforcer, but instead they fled.

The van eventually returned.

The convoy was issued traffic violation tickets for disregarding traffic signs and illegal use of blinkers.

The DOTr-SAICT is investigating the incident.
