Fire hits Makati Med newborn ICU —BFP

A fire broke out in a newborn intensive care unit at Makati Medical Center in Barangay San Lorenzo, Makati City on Friday morning, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The fire on the fifth floor of the hospital started around 8:29 a.m. and reached the first alarm around 8:38 a.m., the BFP said.

According to the BFP, a total of 10 firetrucks and one ambulance responded to the area.

The fire was declared out around 9:05 a.m. 

The BFP has yet to provide information on the possible cause of the fire, cost of damage, and casualties.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
