Drunk tenant stabs caretaker over unpaid rent in Antipolo

A 55-year-old house caretaker died after she was stabbed by a drunk tenant following tension over the latter’s unpaid rent in Antipolo City.

According to EJ Gomez’s report in "State of the Nation" on Wednesday, the 36-year-old suspect has yet to pay P5,000 for two months of rent.

The police said the 36-year-old suspect, who was drunk at that time, confronted the victim.

(His relatives heard her hurling insults against him. He had enough of her, so he confronted her and stabbed her.)

The victim did not make it to the hospital after sustaining stab wounds on her chest.

Meanwhile, the suspect admitted that he had enough of the victim.

Blackout po ako, ma’am, lasing na lasing ako eh,” he said.

(I tried to be patient with her but I reached the breaking point. I also blacked out at that time due to alcohol.)

He is now under the custody of the Antipolo Police and will be charged for murder.

GMA Integrated News has reached out to the family of the victim for a statement.
