Man nabbed for allegedly blackmailing ex-girlfriend, says he only wants 'closure'
A 28-year-old man who allegedly blackmailed and tried to extort money from his 15-year-old ex-girlfriend was arrested in Caloocan.
According to Jun Veneracion's "24 Oras" report, the suspect demanded money from the victim in exchange for not exposing their sensitive videos and photos.
He was arrested in an entrapment operation by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group.
"Noong sila pa nagkaroon sila ng intimate videos and photos at itong materials na ito ang ginamit ng suspek sa pamba-blackmail sa victim,” said Police Luitenant Wallen Arancillo, PNP ACG spokesperson.
(When they were still together, they had intimate videos and photos, and the suspect used these materials to blackmail the victim.)
The suspect denied the allegation and said he only requested closure or a proper break-up.
He said he would immediately delete the photos and videos after their meeting.
“Siguro nadala lang ako ng bugso ng pagmamahal. Kaya siguro nagkaganyan pero yung sinasabi nila, binibintang po nila nang harass po ako [hindi po],” said the suspect.
(Maybe I was just carried away by a gust of love. Maybe that's why it happened, but they're saying they're accusing me of harassment [I did not].)
"Bigla lang mo lang hiniwalayan, bigla mo lang iiwan na parang wala lang. Bigyan mo lang ako ng ano para at least maayos ang paghihiwalay natin,” he said, pertainting to his ex.
(You suddenly left it as if nothing happened. Please give me something to make our separation decent.)
He is now facing multiple complaints, including grave coercion and child abuse. —Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
