Manila road closures, alternative routes for Feast of Sto. Niño de Tondo on Jan. 19


Several road sections will be closed for the celebration of the Feast of the Sto. Niño de Tondo in Tondo, Manila on January 19, 2025, according to the Manila Police District (MDP).

In an advisory, MPD said the following road sections will be closed from January 18 to 19:

-Stretch of Zamora St. from Moriones St. to Chacon Street
-Stretch of Sta.Maria St. from Moriones St. to Morga St.
-Stretch of J. Nolasco St. from Morga St. to N. Zamora St.
-Stretch to Morga St. from J. Nolasco St. to Juan Luna St.
-Stretch to Ortega St. from Asuncion St. to Soliman St.
-Stretch of Lakandula St. from Asuncion St. to Llyala St.
-Stretch to Llyala St. from Lakandula St. to Cm. Recto Aue.
-Stretch to Charon St. from Cano St. to N. Zamora St.
-Stretch of Soliman St. from Morga St. to Ortega St. / N. Zamora St.

Motorists may use the following alternative routes:

-All vehicles utilizing J. Nolasco St. proceeding to Tondo Church shall turn right to Morga St. straight to Tuazon St. to Wagas St. or left to Asuncion St. to Cm. Recto Rue. to Point of Destination.
All vehicles coming from Pritil utilizing N. Zamora St. shall turn left to Moriones St. to Juan St. to point of Destination.
-All vehicles utilizing Cm. Recto Ave/Asuncion St. shall turn left to Lakandula St. to point of destination.
-Stretch of Wagas Street from Zaragoza St. will be one way going to Moriones St.
-Stretch of Kagitingan St. from Moriones St. will be one way going to Zaragoza St.

The feast of the Santo Niño is celebrated in the predominantly Catholic Philippines to honor the virtues of the child Jesus Christ.
