SUSPECTS COULD BE SAME PERSON

Rochelle Barrameda asks NBI for fingerprint analysis on suspects behind sister, bizman killings

Actress Rochelle Barrameda asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday to conduct a fingerprint analysis of the alleged mastermind in the killing of a businessman and a certain Lope Jimenez, who she believes is behind her sister's death.

According to Jamie Santos’ report in Saksi, the actress requested the examination to prove her allegation the two suspects are the same person.

“Iko-compare namin ‘yun. Makita natin kung yung fingerprint impression belongs to one and same person, ayun ang maitutulong namin sa kanila,” said NBI Director Jaime Santiago.

(We will compare the two fingerprints. Once we find out the fingerprint impression belongs to one and same person, that’s what we can do to help the family.)

The said suspect was recently arrested for plotting the death of a 62-year-old businessman, who was abducted outside his home in Quezon City last January 5. His body was later found inside a drum in Bulacan.

Following the suspect’s arrest, Rochelle accused him as the same person behind the 2007 murder of her sister Ruby Rose whose body was also found inside a cement-filled drum that was dumped in Manila Bay.

If the analysis proves that the mastermind in the two cases are the same person, the NBI said this will solve Barrameda’s case.

“Probably solved na, maso-solve [...] So ito mare-reopen yung case, probably, at matutuldukan na yung insidente na ‘yun,” said Santiago.

(Probably this will solve the case [...] So it will be reopened and probably, this will give closure to what happened.)

Once the QCPD immediately provides the fingerprint impression of the arrested suspect in the businessman's slay, the NBI said it will be able to release the results of the analysis within 48 hours.
