No NBI clearance processing in Manila on January 9

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced Wednesday that clearance processing in its Manila City offices will be suspended on January 9, Thursday.

In an advisory, the bureau said there will be no clearance processing in the NBI Main Clearance Processing Center along UN Avenue, and the NBI Clearance Centers in Robinsons Ermita and Robinsons Otis.

The NBI said the clearance processing in these offices will resume on January 10.

The move is in line with Malacañang's declaration that January 9 will be a special non-working holiday in the City of Manila in observance of the Feast of Jesus Nazareno, the bureau said.

Among the highlights of the feast is the Traslacion, or the procession of the 400-year-old black image of Jesus Nazareno from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church. — Joahna Lei Casilao/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
