Christmas tree in Antipolo mall catches fire

A Christmas tree inside a mall in Antipolo City was engulfed in flames on Friday afternoon.

According to a report in "24 Oras," the video uploader shared that the fire started at the bottom of the tree.

The fire was extinguished immediately.

The mall management, on the other hand, clarified that the fire is an isolated incident from a separate fire in another part of the establishment.

The mall’s emergency response team later conducted safety checks along with personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection.

“An isolated fire incident occurred in a small area of the mall. The fire was immediately put out and safety checks were conducted by our Emergency Response Team together with the Bureau of Fire Protection. The rest of the mall is not affected,” said Robinsons Antipolo in a statement. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BAP, GMA Integrated News
