Rains dampen Christmas Eve in parts of Metro Manila

Rains dampened the celebration of Christmas Eve in parts of Metro Manila as some parks usually crowded for Noche Buena were empty past midnight.

In Jhomer Apresto's report on Unang Balita on Wednesday, there were no people in Rizal Park due to overnight rains.

This is the same scenario in Kartilya ng Katipunan at the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge, which had several visitors last Christmas who spent their Noche Buena in the light-filled installation.

There was also no crowd in Liwasang Bonfiacio.

However, several families still managed to celebrate Christmas Eve and enjoyed their Noche Buena in their homes.

PAGASA said that rains in Metro Manila will persist throughout the day.
