MMDA suspends number coding scheme for holiday season

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Wednesday that it will suspend the implementation of the expanded number coding scheme for the upcoming holiday season, including Rizal Day.

In advisory, the MMDA said the number coding scheme will be suspended on the following days:

  • Tuesday, December 24 - Christmas Eve (special non-working holiday)
  • Wednesday, December 25 - Christmas Day (regular holiday)
  • Monday, December 30 - Rizal Day (regular holiday)
  • Tuesday, December 31 - last day of the year (special non-working holiday)
  • Wednesday, January 1, 2025 - New Year’s Day (regular holiday)

“The number of vehicles on the road increases due to the large number of people who will go on vacation and celebrate the Christmas season,” the agency said in Filipino.
