PNP investigating Makati shooting witnessed by lawmaker


The Philippine National Police-Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) has launched a motu proprio investigation into a shooting incident allegedly involving a police officer firing at a motorcyclist.

According to a report on Super Radyo dzBB by Luisito Santos, the incident was witnessed by a member of the House of Representatives.

Initially, the lawmaker stated that the shooting occurred at Bonifacio Global  City.

However, subsequent verification by the Southern Police District confirmed that the incident took place in Makati City.

The report added that the shooting took place during a police operation against a snatcher-robber who was on a motorcycle.

PNP-IAS Inspector General Atty. Brigido Dulay said the investigation would focus on the circumstances leading to the shooting and any potential violations committed by the officer involved.

“We will ensure a thorough and impartial investigation,” Dulay assured the public. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
