1 dead, 2 hurt in Pinagbuhatan, Pasig fire


One person died and two were injured in an early Sunday morning fire in a residential neighborhood in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

In his report on Super Radyo dzBB, Carlo Mateo said the Bureau of Fire Protection said they are still trying to determine what caused the fire that began at Acacia Street at 3:47 a.m. Residents said the fire began from a house with no electricity.

The remains of the lone fatality, a man, was recovered from one one of razed houses at past 8 a.m. as firefighters encountered difficulties in reaching it.

Two persons were reportedly injured.

The BFP said at least 30 residences and establishments were destroyed or damaged by the blaze.

The fire reached the 2nd Alarm before it was declared extinguished at 6:03 a.m. according to BFP ground commander Robert Marabilla.

The Scene of the Crime (SOCO) of the Pasig Police said it will conduct a probe of the incident.

Affected residents are currently housed in a chapel in the neighborhood.—RF, GMA Integrated News
