Closed van loses brakes, hits 3 women in QC

An elderly woman was killed while two others were hurt after they were hit by a closed van in Quezon City. 

According to James Agustin's report on "Saksi," CCTV footage from the area showed that the three women were seen walking on the sidewalk when the van came from behind and hit them. 

The senior citizen died on the spot while the two others were brought to the hospital.

The incident occurred at around 7 p.m. on Tuesday along Victoria Avenue in Barangay Damayang Lagi, Quezon City. 

Meanwhile, the 34 year old closed van driver was turned over to the Quezon City Police District. He refused to give a statement. 

According to the driver's companion and the owner of the van, they were supposed to make a delivery when the accident happened.

He asked for forgiveness from the relatives of the victim. 

"Pasensya na po e talagang disgrasya, hindi natin kagustuhan po natin yon. Talagang wala tayong magagawa po," he added.
