13-year old boy killed in hit-and-run incident in EDSA busway
A 13-year old boy was killed in a hit-and-run incident along the EDSA busway portion of Balintawak, Quezon City on late Wednesday night.
According to the GTV Balitanghali report of James Agustin on Thursday, the victim was struck by a bus near the Dario Bridge before midnight.
The victim and his two friends crossed the northbound lane of EDSA and went inside the busway.
(We were going to get firewood. We haven't gotten any when the bus suddenly hit him and stopped. The conductor just looked. I chased the bus, but I couldn't catch it.)
The victim's grandmother said she was sad and upset because the bus driver just drove away.
(They have children and grandchildren; why did they flee? Even if they had just picked up the child, I hope they give themselves up.)
The Quezon City Police District-Traffic Sector 6 is still investigating the incident. They are in the process of gathering CCTV footage in the area. —Sherylin Untalan/RF, GMA Integrated News
