Arrest of child abuse suspect led by undercover cop posing as his girlfriend

A man, wanted for multiple counts of child abuse, was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) by team led by undercover police pretending to be his girlfriend.

According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report on "24 Oras," the suspect has been moving from Cotabato City, General Santos City avoiding arrest by the police.

However, he was arrested after agreeing to meet up with his "girlfriend." She and the woman taking the video were undercover police officers.

“Nakipag-relasyon itong ating operatiba dito sa suspek, hanggang sa nagkasundo sila na pwede na lumuwas ng Maynila,” said P/Major Raul Salle, chief of East Police District special operation unit.

(Our operative formed a relationship with the suspect until they agreed that they can meet up in Manila.)

When the suspect and undercover police exited the parking lot, the other police officers arrested him.

The suspect allegedly molested a 12-year-old teenager, who was his previous partner's sibling.

“Nauuna laging umuwi itong lalaki, doon nangyayari ang pang mo-molestiya dito sa 12-year-old na kapatid ng kanyang ka live-in,” Salle said.

(The suspect always came home first, and this is the time when he would allegedly molest the 12-year-old, who is the sibling of his live-in partner.)

The victim had the courage to report the suspect when a relative noticed her unusual actions.
