10-year-old boy forced to sell drugs by mom, partner
A 10-year-old boy in Navotas City said that his mother and his mother's partner forced him to sell drugs and would hurt him if he disobeyed.
In Marisol Abdurahman’s exclusive report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the boy, "Ron" (not his real name) said that the couple made him sell shabu and would also do drugs in front of him. This went on for a year until he was able to escape and tell his grandmother, who then went to the authorities.
“Pinagbebenta siya, pinalo siya nang pinalo. Kaya nanggigil ako, pinapunta ko siya sa barangay,” the grandmother said.
(He was forced to sell shabu, he was being hit. That infuriated me, that’s why I accompanied him to the barangay.)
"Mismong bata ginagawa nilang kasangkapan," Police Captain Gregorio Cueto, Deputy Chief of the Navotas Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit said.
(They used the child as a tool to sell drugs.)
The man and a companion were arrested in a buy-bust operation, but he denied the allegations.
Charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs were still filed against him. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BM, GMA Integrated News
