Number coding suspended from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1 —MMDA
The expanded number coding scheme in Metro Manila is suspended from Thursday, October 31, to Friday, November 1, in observation of All Saints’ Day and All Souls Day, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced.
“Suspendido ang pagpapatupad ng Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) o number coding scheme sa Oktubre 31, Huwebes, upang bigyang-daan ang mga bibiyahe sa paggunita ng #Undas at long weekend,” MMDA said in an advisory.
“(At sa) Nobyembre 1, Biyernes, paggunita ng All Saints' Day na isang special non-working holiday,” it added.
(The Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program or number coding scheme is suspended on Oct. 31, Thursday, to give allowance to those going to cemeteries for All Saints’ Day and long weekend, and on Nov. 1, Friday, which is a non-working holiday.)
Meanwhile, the Makati City will also suspend its number coding scheme on Thursday starting at 12:00 p.m. in line with the suspension of work in government.
Some local government units in Metro Manila have announced road closures and reblocking for Undas 2024.
Malacañang has suspended work in government offices and classes at all levels from noon onwards on October 31, 2024, to allow employees to travel to and from the provinces to observe Undas.
All Saints’ Day on Nov. 1 and All Souls’ Day on Nov. 2 have been declared as special non-working days.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/AOL, GMA Integrated News
