Parañaque, San Juan, Pasay LGUs issue advisories for Undas 2024

The Parañaque, San Juan, and Pasay local government units (LGU) on Monday released advisories for the observance of this year’s All Saints’ and Souls’ Days.

In a social media post, Parañaque City said Manila Memorial Park will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 29 and from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 3.

It will be open for 24 hours from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

The advisory also stated that Loyola Memorial Park will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Oct. 29 to 30 and Nov. 3.

It will be open for 24 hours from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1 and on Nov 2, it will be open until 10 p.m.

Himlayang Palanyag will allow visitors starting 7 a.m. from Oct. 29 to 31 and Nov. 3.

It will be open for 24 hours from Nov 1 to 2.

Parañaque Catholic Cemetery will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Oct. 29 to 30 and Nov. 2 and 3.

It will be open from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1.

Parañaque City said drunk visitors are not allowed inside the cemeteries.

Visitors are prohibited from cooking, smoking, and bringing of lighter and gasoline inside the cemeteries, but matches are allowed to light candles.

Also prohibited are:

  • Bringing of liquors.
  • Bringing of sound systems, musical instruments, speakers or anything that creates loud sounds.
  • Bringing of Illegal drugs and sharp objects like knives and scissors
  • Improper disposal of trash

Vehicles will not be allowed to enter the cemeteries. Motorists may coordinate with the authorities for proper parking.

Burials and cremations will be postponed from Oct. 31 until Nov. 1.

Parañaque City said the public can call this number in case of emergency: 8820-PQUE(7783). 

 

In a separate Facebook post, San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said cemeteries in the city are open from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.

Aside from the mentioned above, Zamora said the following are also prohibited:

  • Vendors with no special mayor’s permit
  • Throwing trash on tombs
  • Installing electric power without permission from the engineering department

 

 

San Juan also released a re-routing scheme along Boni Serrano Avenue from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the Pasay LGU said the Pasay City Cemetery will be open from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Oct. 29 until Nov. 2.

Burials and cremations will be postponed from Oct. 31 until Nov. 2.

Vehicles are also not allowed to enter on those dates.

The local government said the Pasay City Cemetery office is open from Nov. 1 to 2.

The public was reminded to check the weather before visiting the cemetery and to know the first aid and police assistance station.

 

The City of Manila, Muntinlupa, Caloocan, and Malabon have released its respective advisories for Undas 2024.

Malacañang has declared All Saints’ Day on Nov. 1 and All Souls’ Day on Nov. 2 as special non-working days.

Malacañang has announced half day classes and government work on October 31, 2024, to allow employees to travel to and from the provinces to observe Undas.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/AOL, GMA Integrated News
