LRT1 on limited operations as tree clearing ongoing

LRT-1 continue limited operations, tree clearing ongoing

The LRT-1 operations remain limited on Friday morning from Central Terminal to Fernando Poe Jr Station and vice versa, the train operator announced.

"LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) will continue to implement limited operations when #LRT1 opens for commercial service at 4:30AM today, 25 October 2024," the LRMC announced.

"Our team is still working on the removal of the fallen tree between EDSA and Libertad stations, as well as the assessment of its impact on catenary facilities and the necessary repairs," the company added.

The LRMC said that a inspection of all stations and tracks is ongoing to ensure the safety of the commuters.

"LRMC is closely monitoring the typhoon situation, and will continue to provide information on the status of LRT-1 operations through the LRMC’s official Facebook page (Light Rail Manila Corporation), X account (@officialLRT1), and ikotMNL mobile app. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.," the company said.

On Thursday, the LRT-1 operations were cut short on Thursday after a tree fell onto the carriageway and catenary facilities.

“An electrical post was hit by the fallen tree affecting the power situation in the area. LRT-1 tracks will also be thoroughly checked to ensure everyone’s continued safety,” it added. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
