Fallen tree cuts short LRT-1 trip

A tree that has fallen onto the carriageway and catenary facilities has affected the operations of Light Rail Transit - 1 on Thursday evening.

The Light Rail Manila Corporation said that LRT-1 trains only ran from Central Terminal to Fernando Poe Jr. Station and vice versa as of 8:04 p.m.

 “Our engineering personnel are onsite working to safely remove part of the tree which fell on the carriageway and catenary facilities between EDSA and Libertad stations,” the advisory read.

“An electrical post was hit by the fallen tree affecting the power situation in the area. LRT-1 tracks will also be thoroughly checked to ensure everyone’s continued safety,” it added. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
