Marikina River back to normal level
The water level of the Marikina River has returned to normal level on Thursday afternoon amid the continuous rains brought by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
As of 5 p.m. on Thursday, the Marikina City Public Information Office said the river’s level was measured at 14.7 meters.
The rainfall count upstream, meanwhile, is as follows:- Mt. Campana: 1 mm
- Mt. Boso-Boso: 19 mm
- Mt. Aries: 11 mm
- Mt. Oro: 7 mm
- Nangka: 4 mm
- TOTAL: 42 mm
On Wednesday, the Marikina River’s water level was normal until it rose to 15.1 m at 4 a.m. on Thursday, triggering a First Alarm.
Metro Manila is currently under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 based on PAGASA’s 2 p.m. bulletin.
In its Thursday forecast, PAGASA said Kristine, the 11th storm to enter the country, will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday afternoon. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
