Number coding suspended on Wednesday, October 23, due to Kristine

The expanded number coding scheme is suspended on Wednesday amid the heavy rains caused by Tropical Storm Kristine (International name: Trami), according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

“Suspendido ang pagpapatupad ng Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) o number coding scheme ngayong araw,  Oktubre  23 (Miyerkules),” the MMDA said in an advisory.

According to the MMDA, the expanded number coding scheme is suspended after Malacañang announced the suspension of classes and government work in the entire Luzon due to the ongoing rains from Kristine. 

In its 5 a.m. bulletin on Wednesday, state weather bureau PAGASA said Kristine was last spotted 180 kilometers north northeast of Virac, Catanduanes packing maximum sustained winds of 85 km per hour and gustiness of up to 105 kph. 

The storm was moving west northwestward at 25 kph.
