A fire broke out in a residential area in Sta. Ana, Manila on Tuesday morning.

The affected area is on Onyx Street near Sagrada Familia in Barangay 775.

As the fire quickly spread, it reached the second alarm at 6:15 a.m, then the third alarm at 6:28 a.m., then the fourth alarm at 6:48 a.m.

With the fourth alarm sounded, 13 firetrucks were needed to respond to the fire, according to a report by Bea Pinlac on Unang Balita.

Thick black smoke could be seen in the area.

Residents tried to save whatever belongings they could.

Some residents also helped out in putting the fire.

No casualties have been reported so far.

The BFP said more or less 300 families were affected by the fire and more or less 100 houses were burned. Estimated damage to property is at P3 million.

The narrow streets in the area have made it difficult for firemen to access the affected site, according to a report by Manny Vargas on Dobol B TV.

The fire was placed under control at 8:46 a.m.
