Man chases, threatens live-in partner’s co-worker with knife

A man was apprehended by the police in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City after he chased after another man with a weapon.

According to Taguig City Police Sub-Station commander Police Major Jefferson Sinfuego, the suspect was supposed to surprise his live-in partner with flowers, but saw her walking out of the elevator with her co-worker.

“Doon nag-umpisa ‘yung [jealousy] niya, na parang tingin niya ‘yung pagdududa niya is totoo, that’s why nilabas niya na ‘yung kutsilyo niya,” Sinfuego said in a report by Jhomer Apresto on GMA’s “24 Oras Weekend” on Sunday.

“Luckily, itong victim natin is nakatakbo, nakaiwas doon sa mga saksak na binigay ng suspect natin,” he added.

(This is where his jealousy started, where he thought his doubts had come true, that’s why he brought out his knife. Luckily, the victim was able to run away and avoid the stabs that the suspect gave.)

The victim was able to flee to a nearby mall establishment, where the guards apprehended the suspect.

“Tinanong ko ‘yung suspect natin, ‘yun nga is parang wala na raw spark ‘yung relationship nila and then siguro may nakikita rin siya na laging nasa cellphone ‘yung ka-live in niya na dati hindi naman daw ganon,” Sinfuego said.

(I asked the suspect, [he said] it seemed as though their relationship no longer had a spark and maybe he saw that his live-in partner was always on her cellphone, but she was not usually like that.)

The suspect was brought to the Taguig City Police Station, and will face charges of attempted homicide.
