Over 5K vehicles apprehended from July to Sept. 2024 —LTO-NCR

The Land Transportation Office in the National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) apprehended over 5,000 motorists for various violations in the third quarter of 2024.

According to a statement on Friday, a total of 5,769 drivers were issued tickets from July to September, with 2,451 cited for violating the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, including 355 cases involving unregistered vehicles.

A total of 1,625 motorists were found not using seatbelts, followed by 888 motorists who were travelling with defective accessories, and 593 motorists who were not wearing standard motorcycle helmets.

Separately, the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Philippine National Police were also able to apprehend 727 drivers over the same time period.

For the month of June, LTO said that they were able to apprehend 10,000 vehicles nationwide under the “No Registration, No Travel” policy.

Motorcycles were the most apprehended vehicles with 6,824, followed by tricycles (1,787), private vans (954), private sedans (451), and trucks (230).—Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
