Chinese woman kidnapped, fellow citizen nabbed while 7 suspects at large

A Chinese man was arrested after he and seven other suspects allegedly kidnapped of a fellow Chinese citizen in Bulacan.

According to a 24 Oras report by Emil Sumangil on Tuesday, CCTV footage obtained by the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group from a motel in Bulacan on September 13 showed two Chinese men with the alleged victim, a 30-year-old woman.

Police said the footage was taken when the suspects released the victim after receiving ransom money from China.

“Ayon sa debriefing, nakakuha ang mga suspek ng worth P3 million,” said PNP Highway Patrol Group – Task Force Limbas Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Joel Casupanan.

(According to the debriefing, the suspects were able to get P3 million.)

The PNP-AKG and the PNP-HPG Task Force Limbas were able to locate a luxury vehicle, which allegedly took the victim back to her residence in Metro Manila.

“Naka-post siya sa [Facebook] marketplace na for sale… Nagmamadali po yung possessor na maibenta yung sasakyan… Sa market value na P1.7 [million], inoffer po siya sa P1.4 [million],” Casupanan said.

(It was posted at the [Facebook] marketplace for sale… The possessor was rushing to sell the car… With a market of P1.7 [million], it was being offered for P1.4 [million].)

Police located the car at a commercial area in Taguig. The vehicle was followed and intercepted by HPG operatives, leading to the arrest of the Chinese man behind the wheel.

“Positively identified po siya based sa picture at description na binigay sa atin ng isang kidnap victim po,” said Casupanan.

(He was positively identified based on the picture and description provided by the kidnap victim.)

Authorities were able to seize a .45 caliber handgun aside from the luxury vehicle, which was impounded due to questionable documents.

Meanwhile, the suspect denied the allegations while in police custody.

Currently, three other Chinese and four Filipino suspects involved in the kidnapping remain at large.
